Crater depth for a diameter, meters.
Fresh simple craters carry depth/diameter ≈ 0.2 — a bowl. Past the
simple-to-complex transition the floor collapses and the ratio falls away as
roughly D^0.3, which is why South Pole–Aitken is 2,500 km across and only
eight deep. Exported because the grammar inverts it to choose the largest
crater it can afford, and the crater band evaluates it: two callers, one law.
