Search the whole catalog, as rows a listing can render.
The other half of the split travelTargets could not make. That function is
a survey: it sweeps stars within a radius, which cannot run per keystroke
and cannot see past its own horizon — so a search box filtering its result
was a search of a 16 light-year bubble against a 150 light-year catalog, and
a star 90 light years out was not merely hard to find but unexpressible.
catalog.search is where the index and the "index it, never scan" contract
already live; this is the projection onto a row, which is this file's job.
The catalog is an argument, exactly like resolveSystem — never ambient.
