Horizontal field of view, radians — the one derivation the viewport enters.
The sensor is gauge · aspect wide, so this follows the window while the
vertical field does not. That asymmetry is the whole point of holding the
gauge vertical: a resize changes what is at the sides of the frame and
nothing else.
