Zero for a file that claims no volume — the sky asset, whose stars are chosen by brightness rather than by distance, and the one-star fallback.

Present on a sky asset, and on a catalog that loaded one: the selection
its distant stars satisfy. Absent from a volume asset, which is defined by
radiusLightYears alone.
