Radial roughness as a fraction of the mean radius, after the ellipsoid.

Not a style knob, and not a free parameter: it is the residual standard deviation of the radius about the body's own best-fit ellipsoid, which is a thing that can be measured and has been. Across the twenty-five shape models in data/shapes/ it runs from 0.023 (Janus, a smooth potato) to 0.61 (Ida, which is bent enough that an ellipsoid barely describes it), with a median of 0.090.

docs/design/art.md licenses the shape below the published axes as generated. It does not license the axes.
