Decelerating across the whole travel rather than easing in and out, because the reference's words enter already at speed — they were thrown from off-frame, not started from rest — and the only interesting part of the curve is how they stop.
The default power is a fit, not a taste. Tracking the two logotype words through the throw gives the remaining offset at f1140, f1144 and f1148 as 0.271, 0.181 and 0.107 of the frame; consecutive ratios of 0.668 and 0.591 both solve to p = 1.93 over a 27-frame travel from f1134, and the same exponent then predicts f1137 to within a thousandth on all six channels — two positions and a scale, per word. A curve that fits six independent measurements is the curve the reference used.
